After shifting to tattoo work, I found myself drawn to create new work that wasn't so similar to what I was doing for clients. A childhood interest in miniatures and models soon grew into a whole new body of work I call Cognitive Dissidents. Each piece is constructed in an almost stream-of-consciousness style with found objects and various model elements and toys to create a surreal and almost confusing tableau. Each is a unique construction housed in a glass bell-jar and can take anywhere from a few weeks, to nearly a year to complete as elements are juxtaposed and allowed to percolate before being permanently combined.
